All colours belong to one of sixteen palettes, and every person has their one ultimate palette. When you wear your right colours, they make you look healthier, more vibrant, make your eyes look brighter and bring out your best features, while minimizing those that you prefer to de-emphasize. Your optimal colours always harmonize with you and never overpower you or make you look dull. For instance, while some people look stunning in bright red, others will “disappear” when wearing such a dominant colour. Some of us look incredible in pale blue and others look “washed out”. Quite often, a variation in the tone of the same colour will make a huge difference. When you look at yourself in the mirror, you see how your true colours complement your face and make it look brighter, you see harmony and flow. When other people complement how you look, they say ‘You look amazing!’ and not ‘This outfit looks amazing.’ We do this through what is called a colour analysis.
Your colour palette will never change, so once you know it, you can start building your wardrobe with it. Once most of your clothes and accessories are in your right colours, you will notice how easy it is to create lots of different outfits. All colours within one palette go with each other, making it very easy to combine all aspects of your wardrobe.
If you want to achieve the ultimate and optimal results, your hair colour, makeup, jewellery and accessories should also be in your colour palette. The Colour Analysis is approximately 1 hour to 1.5 hours and is generally the first service we conduct before moving on to the others. I use a special full-spectrum light, a full- length mirror, and a professional set of fabric drapes in different colours. I will be looking at your natural colouring – skin undertone, natural hair colour, eye colour and pattern, eyebrows. During the process we will compare different palettes, and both of us will see how some colours bring out the best in you, while others sabotage you.
My clients are always amazed at how beautiful they look in many colours that they never thought would look good on them. We will also take a look at your favourite colours or colours you tend to wear a lot and will determine if they complement you. Sometimes choosing a different shade of your favourite colour (cooler or warmer, lighter or darker) will make it more optimal for you. Near the end of our session, I will demonstrate your ‘wow’ colours, and if you wish you can also purchase a colour wallet with the swatches of the colours in your palette for easy shopping and reference.
